Grade 1-winning filly Alwajeeha retired

ALWAJEEHA, winner of the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup earlier this month, has been retired to her owner Sheikh Hamdan's Shadwell Farm in Lexington.

Bred by Shadwell, Alwajeeha is a three-year-old daughter of Dixieland Band out of a half-sister to US stakes winner Mithaal.

She won three of her career starts for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin, including when defeating Garden City Stakes heroine Backseat Rhythm in the QEII Challenge Cup at Keeneland on her last start.
