Z Humor sold to stand at stud in Venezuela

Z HUMOR, a Grade 1-placed son of Distorted Humor, has been sold to take up stallion duties at the Haras Urama in Venezuela.

The six-year-old won the Maxxam Gold Cup on his last start earlier this month.

Z Humor's racing owner Ahmed Zayat - who  bought the horse for $240,000 as a yearling at Keeneland September - told Thoroughbred Daily News: "This is a new market for us, and we look forward to supporting Z Humor with our breeding rights.

"With his breeding, race record and heart, I think Z Humor has a big chance to prove himself as a stallion."

Z Humor won the Grade 3 Jackpot Stakes at two, as well as finishing third to War Pass in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes.

At three he ran third in the Grade 2 Illinois Derby.

Z Humor retireswith six wins from 34 starts and $970,163 in prize-money.
