Driver travels to Argentina for top lot

HAVING signed for the top lot at the DBS Breeze-Up a week ago, Adam Driver of the Global Equine Group again bought a sale-topper at Argentina's (ARG) Sales select yearling auction at San Isidro racecourse, Buenos Aires.

The Distorted Humor colt is out of the Brazilian-bred Royal Academy mare Movie Star. The mare won the Henrique Possolo Stakes, a Group 1 Brazilian equivalent to the 1,000 Guineas. The colt is her first foal and was knocked down to Driver for $110,000.

The sale comprises two select yearling sessions, which were held on Sunday and Monday, with a further general yearling session today.

Driver said: "He's a typical Distorted Humor: Very powerful, very muscular, a great mover with good conformation."

The top lot at Doncaster's breeze-up was a Dubawi colt out of the Listed-placed Lend A Hand mare Improvise consigned by Bansha House Stables, selling for £140,000.
