DISTANT MEMORIES (4 g Falbrav - Amathia by Darshaan)

Breeder: Kildaragh Stud

DISTANT Memories put up a bold front-running performance to deny warm favourite Hot Prospect to take this Group 3 event.

In the process, he became the third European stakes winner by the multiple Group 1 winner Falbrav following Listed winners Fanunalter and Splashdown. April Pride, another member of his sole European crop produced during a season at Cheveley Park Stud in 2005, is also a Grade3 winner in the US.

The son of Fairy King is also responsible for two stakes winners in Australia, conceived during his time at Arrowfield Stud, and another in Japan, where he stands at Shadai Farm.

Distant Memories hails from a family closely associated with Kildaragh Stud as a grandson son of their notable mare Zivania, the dam of seven stakes runners including Group 2 winner Ivan Luis and 1,000 Guineas third Hathrah. Distant Memories' dam, Amathia, upheld the tradition in fine style, winning the Listed Prix Casimir Delamarre and running third at Group 3 level.

Amathia has a two-year-old filly by Hurricane Run named Mohedian Lady and in training with Michael Bell.
