New Zealand stud buys interest in Paco Boy

PACO Boy will shuttle to Waikato Stud in New Zealand next year after the Matamata-based operation purchased an interest in the triple Group 1 winner from Highclere Stud.

Waikato Stud, which has been crowned New Zealand ‘Breeder of the Year’ in four of the last five years, stands seven stallions including champion sires O’Reilly and Pins, and owner Garry Chittick is looking forward to welcoming Paco Boy.

He said: "We are thrilled to have purchased an interest in Paco Boy as we regard him as one of the best international performers to be retiring to stud in New Zealand for some years. This extremely tough, sound, three-time Group 1-winning miler has the best turn of foot that we have ever seen.

"We love the Green Desert line and feel with his tremendous good looks he is exactly what we have been looking for our broodmare band."

Paco Boy will stand the northern hemisphere season at Highclere Stud for £8,500.
