Caradak sires first winner in Spain

SPANISH-BASED first-season sire Caradak was represented by his first winner on Sunday when his first runner, the bay filly Fearside, won a 5f maiden on the Spanish Oaks card at La Zarzuela.

Fearside is the first foal produced by the Peintre Celebre mare Fear To Tread, from the family of Pistolet Bleu and a dual 1m3f-1m5f winner in Britain for John Dunlop.

A son of Desert Style, Caradak won eight races including the Group 2 Celebration Mile from Killybegs and the Group 1 Prix de la Foret, in which he beat Linngari and Welsh Emperor.

He is out of the Shahrastani mare Caraiyma, a sister to Group 3 Meld Stakes winner Cajarian.

At the conclusion of his racing career Caradak joined the stallion roster at the Dehesa De Milagro in Navarra, Spain.
