Derby Sale reverts to two-day format
THE Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale will return to its two-day format this year, in light of the current economic climate. The sale of jumping store horses was changed from two days to three days in 2008, and this year will take place on June 24-25.
Tattersalls Ireland Managing Director George Mernagh said: "After consultation with our clients and the management at Tattersalls Ireland it was felt the original format of two days was best suited to the stringent market conditions.
"The Derby Sale has stood the test of time since first established in 1975 and is widely regarded asthe best sale of its kind in the world. The current demand for places is as strong as ever and we look forward to beginning the inspection process shortly.
We remain committed to working with our clients in order to have the Store horse presented in a way that meets market requirements. We look forward to consulting with clients the best way to achieve this."
