DBS: Swinburn draft provides early highlights

A DRAFT from Walter Swinburn's stable provided the early highlights at Doncaster's Autumn Horses In Training Sale on Monday.

Heading the way was lightly-raced three-year-old Bright Abbey, who scored at Kempton on September 14 and realised £30,000 when selling to a client of Bonbby O'Ryan.

The five-year-old Absinthe is set to embark on a jumping career after selling for £24,000 to Richard Kent.

"I bought him to Donald McCain and he looks a nice sort of horse," said Kent. "Donald is tired after Newmarket sales last week so asked me to look out for something here."

McCain bought his brilliant dual-purpose performer Overturn for £70,000 from Swinburn's stable at this sale.

Meanwhile, the four-year-old Vimiero is leaving McCain to head to the Cotswolds after being knocked down to Juliet Minton, acting for Highflyer Bloodstock, for £23,000. "He's been bought to go jumping for a new owner with Jonjo O'Neill and he was a good looking horse with some decent form," said Minton.
