Day two led by a son of King's Theatre at €45k

A son of the late King’s Theatre now holds sway on the second day of the Tattersalls Ireland August National Hunt Sale after selling to Margaret O’Toole for €45,000.

From Oak Tree Stables, the gelding was a withdrawal from the Derby Sale here in June but he more than made up from that absence here and looks likely to play a starring role in today’s session.

Gerry Griffin and Nicky Richards tried hard to secure the three-year-old but O’Toole quickly countered their every bid to carry the day for Lot 396. The gelding is the third produce out of a half-sister to the Listed-winning hurdler The Culdee

Earlier the pace was set by a son of Kayf Tara (Lot 344) from Rathbarry Stud who cost agent Aiden Murphy €25,000. The three-year-old is the third produce out of a placed daughter of Presenting whose siblings include the Grade 1 Challow Hurdle third Keepthedreamalive.
