Daughter of Makybe Diva on offer at Inglis

THE second foal out of the triple Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva - a daughter of Fusaichi Pegasus - highlights the entries for the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, which will be held at Newmarket in New South Wales on April 6-8.

Joining Tony Santic's filly is an Encosta De Lago daughter of Holy Roman Emperor's Group 1-placed sister Milanova. The daughter of Danehill became the most expensive horse ever to change hands in the southern hemisphere when selling for A$5m at the Inglis Broodmare Sale in 2008.

Also up for grabs are the progeny of 44 Group 1 winners and 172 siblings to stakes winners, including 51 at Group 1 level.

"Once again we have been fortunate to receive great support from all of Australasia's leading breeders, with their best horses being aimed at the Easter Sale," said Jonathan D'Arcy, Inglis Bloodstock Director.

"This year's catalogue has a good mix of proven top class stallions like Encosta De Lago, Redoute's Choice, Flying Spur, Zabeel and More Than Ready, intertwined with strong drafts from up and comers like Fastnet Rock, Stratum, Lonhro, Snitzel and Starcraft."

Encosta De Lago, the sire of last year's A$1.8m sale-topper, is the most heavily represented sire with 57 yearlings catalogued. Close behind with 55 and 47 entries are Flying Spur and Redoute's Choice.

Easter II, which has proven a huge hit since its inception two years ago, will have 114 yearlings catalogued.
