Dates announced for 2011 JRHA Select Sale

THE JRHA July Select Sale will be held on Monday July 11 and Tuesday 12 in 2011, the JRHA has announced.

The sale will copy the format adopted for the first time this year of two sessions, each starting at 10am. The first session will be devoted to 240 yearlings while the second session will contain 200 foals.

This year's renewal saw two foals top the 100 yen figure led by a son of Neo Universe who was sold to Takaya Shimakawa for 112m yen (£821,197/€979,553). A son of Japanese Triple Crown winner Deep Impact topped the yearling session when selling for 66m yen (£488,240/€582,429) to Makoto Kaneko.

The average for the overall sale fell by 11 per cent to 20,690,000 yen (£154,442/€184,249).
