DATE With Destiny, the only foal sired by the ill-fated George Washington, could make her debut next Friday at either Newmarket's July meeting or Newbury.

The Richard Hannon-trained filly, who was acquired by Ross Doyle on behalf of owner Julie Wood for 320,000gns at last year's Tattersalls October Sale, is one of 23 entries for the 6f maiden at Newmarket and 32 entries for the 7f maiden at Newbury.

Recent winners of the Newmarket maiden include Fantasia, Laureldean Gale and Gossamer.

However, trainer Richard Hannon said on Sunday that Julie Wood's filly would probably head to Newbury if she makes her debut this week.

Hannon said: "She will probably run this Friday, and although I do not know for sure which race yet, she will probably end up at Newbury in the seven-furlong race. She's a nice filly."

Her sire won four Group 1s, including the Stan James 2,000 Guineas, but his stallion career proved short-lived due to fertility problems.

The resumption of George Washington's racing career was ultimately ill-fated too, as he suffered a fatal injury in the Breeders' Cup Classic at a muddy Monmouth Park in October 2007.

Other eye-catching entries in the Newmarket race include Apticanti, an Aptitude half-sister to Distant Music, Chinook Wind, an Encosta De Lago half-sister to Tashawak, Ragsah, a Shamardal half-sister to Dubai Millennium, and Sadafiya, whose dam, Nidhaal, was triumphant in the same maiden five years ago.
