IT was a good day at Meydan on Thursday for Darley's breeding operation as their Street Cry second generation home-bred, Falls Of Lora, scored by 2 3/4 lengths in the UAE Oaks.

Falls Of Lora is the fourth foal out of Firth Of Lorne and a half-sister to 7f Listed winner Etive (Elusive Quality), 1m winner's Loch Linnhe (Elusive Quality) and Bint Almatar (Kingmambo).


The Darley-bred Firth Of Lorne, by Danehill, was a winner over 1m in France and runner-up in the French 1,000 Guineas. She is out of Cherry Hinton winner and 1,000 Guineas second Kerrera, and has a colt foal by New Approach.

Connections of the Stan Moore-trained Mary Fildes will be over the moon with her effort in second. Bought for just €6,000 at the Goresbridge breeze-up sale, the Tally-Ho Stud-bred Chineur filly is out of 6f winner Scarlet Empress, by Second Empire, and from the family of top-class sprinters Ya Malak and Dominica.
