Dark Angel shortens for
first-season sire title

BOOKMAKER Stan James has reacted to the recent run of success enjoyed by Yeomanstown Stud stallion Dark Angel and Cheveley Park's Dutch Art. The firm has shortened the prices for both stallions to achieve leading first-season sire honours and has brought Dark Angel(favourite) in from 13/8 to 11/10 and Dutch Art to 6/4 from 2/1.

DutchArt has recently gone to the top of the table of winners (how Stan James judges the winner) with 20 compared to Dark Angel's 18, although Dark Angel heads the first-season sires' table on prize-money terms.

Red Clubs, currently in third on 17 winners, has also come in from 13/8 to 9/4.

The bookmaker says that the money has all been about the top three in the betting; the prices for the other first-season sires have either remained the same or have been pushed out.
