Red Clubs cut again in first-season sires market

FOUR winners in the past week for Red Clubs has seen Stan James further shorten Tally Ho Stud's late son of Red Ransom to be the leading first-season sire in Britain and Ireland by number of winners.

The firm clipped Red Clubs from 7/2 to 9/4 late last week after the stallion fired in a quickfire double at Catterick. A further two winners on Friday means that the stallion is now available at 11/8.

Joseph Burke of Stan James said: "Red Clubs has been cut again into 11/8 (from 9/4). However Dutch Art remains odds-on favourite at 4/5 due to the fact that he is just one behind despite having had 40 per cent less runners than Red Clubs.

"The only other realistic challenger Dark Angel, so theoretically, all he needs are a few more runners in order to win this competition."

Updated betting for the Stan James leading first season sire market.
