First-crop sires go head to head in Brocklesby

THE Brocklesby Stakes (3.40) at Doncaster today offers the chance of an early boost to the fortunes of four first-season sires: Dark Angel, Amadeus Wolf, Misu Bond and Windsor Knot.

Kevin Ryan, who trained Amadeus Wolf and the sire's first winner at Musselburgh yesterday, Hamza, has Jimmy The Lollipop entered here.

Adranian bids to get Dark Angel off the mark. The grey colt, bred by Hugh O'Brien from a US family, was offered by Yeomanstown Stud at the Tattersalls Ireland September sale and sold to his trainer David Evans for €25,000.
