Darby Dan sire graduates at Churchill Downs

GRADE 2 winner Magna Graduate became the latest American freshman sire to get off the mark when Blueeyesintherein won her career debut, a 4 1/2f maiden at Churchill Downs on Thursday, by 3¾ lengths.

The filly is the first starter for her sire, who is represented by 63 first-crop foals. Bred by Elisabeth Alexander in Kentucky, she is the second winner from as many runners out of the winning Mr. Greeley mare Tartufi.

The tough Magna Graduate won seven Graded stakes and over $2.5 million during his career led by the 2005 Grade 2 Clark Handicap. He also ran third in the 2006 Dubai World Cup.

The son of Honor Grades stands at Darby Dan Farm in Kentucky for $5,000.
