Ad Valorem has first winner in Italy

AD VALOREM had his first winner as a sire when Samaden won a maiden at Capanelle racecourse in Rome on Tuesday.

Ridden by Salvatore Sulas, the filly was having her second start, having been a runner-up on her debut ten days previous. The 6f contest was confined to fillies and a field of 12 lined up.

Unbeaten in three starts as a juvenile including in the Middle Park Stakes, Ad Valorem was campaigned in nine Group or Grade 1 races over a mile at three and four, winning the Queen Anne Stakes at Ascot. He also split Shamardal and Oratorio in the St James' Palace Stakes.

The son of Danzig stands at Coolmore for €5,000.
