Brother to The Rock
to stand in France

GREAT Pyramid, a brother to champion and leading young sire Rock Of Gibraltar, has been acquired to stand at Basheer Kielany's farm in France.

The nine-year-old son of Danehill was scheduled to stand this season at Bridlewood Farm in Florida for $2,500.

Trained by Aidan O'Brien, Great Pyramid looked destined for greater things when taking a 6f maiden at Cork on his second start. However, he failed to win after that, although he did show good form when running fifth to Indian Haven in the Irish 2,000 Guineas.

In 2006, he became one of only two sons of Danehill to stand in the US when retiring to stud in Florida. His first crop of 17 foals are two-year-olds this year.

As well as being a brother to Rock Of Gibraltar, whose first crop included Group 1 winners Mount Nelson and Eagle Mountain, Great Pyramid is from the family of Riverman.
