Mastercraftsman to shuttle to New Zealand

WINDSOR Park Stud in New Zealand has received compensation for the loss of High Chaparral from its roster by standing that stallion's Coolmore stud mate Mastercraftsman for the 2010 southern-hemisphere season.

It emerged earlier this week that High Chaparral would no longer shuttle to Windsor Park Stud and would instead be travelling to stand at Coolmore Australia this year.

Mastercraftsman, Europe's champion juvenile of 2008, won the Irish 2,000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes last year before embarking on his first season at Coolmore this spring.

He is byDanehill Dancer and out of the Black Tie Affair mare Starlight Dreams. His sister Famous ran second in last season's Moyglare Stud Stakes and holds entries for the Newmarket and Irish 1,000 Guineas.

Coolmore Australia's Michael Kirwansaid: "Coolmore has developed a strong relationship with Windsor Park Stud over the years, with the likes of Tale Of The Cat, Montjeu and High Chaparral all having established highly successful southern-hemisphere careers during their time there.

"Bearing this success in mind, I am delighted that through Mastercraftsman, we are in a position to continue this association."

Mastercraftsman joins seven-time New Zealand champion sire Volksraad, Thorn Park, Guillotine and Falkirk on the Windsor Park Stud roster. His fee has been set at NZ$25,000 (£11,680, €13,120).
