Danedream: last year's King George winner is in foal to Frankel

Danedream confirmed in foal to champion Frankel

DANEDREAM, winner of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and last year's King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes, has been confirmed in foal to Frankel by Newsells Park Stud.

Breaking the news on Twitter, the stud said: "Pleased to report that Danedream was scanned in foal to Frankel this morning."

Danedream, a daughter of Lomitas, was denied a chance to defend her Arc title last October after an outbreak of equine infectious anaemia, commonly known as swamp fever, resulted in quarantine restrictions around her Cologne training base.

Juddmonte's undefeated dual world champion Frankel is reported to have taken to his new career well, with 12 of his first 15 mares covered confirmed in foal earlier this month.

Standing his first season at Banstead Manor for a fee of £125,000, the son of Galileo is set to cover a book of around 135 mares, which includes six-time Group 1 winner Midday and Lordship Stud's blue hen Swiss Lake.
