REQUINTO (Dansili-Damson, by Entrepreneur)

Breeder: Liberty Bloodstock

THE Dansili colt Requinto became the second Group-winning two-year-old of the season for his sire Dansili when landing the Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood on Tuesday. Bred by Liberty Bloodstock, he is out of Damson, by 2,000 Guineas winner Entrepreneur, himself by Sadler's Wells.

Damson was a top-class juvenile, winning her first four starts including the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot confined to her own sex and the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes against the colts. She was then third in the Cheveley Park Stakes. Her three-year-old career was unsuccessful; she was unplaced in three starts.

Requinto is her third foal and third winner. Her first, Barbadine, is by Giant's Causeway and won twice over 1m1f and 1m3f, while three-year-old Compelling took a 7f handicap at Limerick in June.

Like the winner, the second and third horses home were by sons of Danehill: Burwaaz is a son of Exceed And Excel and Charles The Great is by Holy Roman Emperor.
