Dalakhani filly tops opening hour at Goffs

THE opening hours of today's session of the Goffs Orby Sale appears to be operating at a notch below that of yesterday's trading, which surpassed many people's expectations by producing an average of €71,025.

So far today, 31 yearlings have changed hands for a total of €1,575,000 and average of €50,806. The median is €30,000.

Three yearlings have broken the six figure barrier led by the third lot into the ring, a daughter of Dalakhani (215) for whom John Ferguson paid €220,000.

Consigned by Middlelane Farm, the filly is a half-sister to Godolphin's useful sprinter Khor Dubai and out of a half-sister to five stakes winners including Reboursiere et de Montaigu's young sire Archange d'Or.

Several lots later, trainers Michael Dods and Jim Bolger paid €150,000 for yearlings by Danehill Dancer (232) and Galileo (234).
