First foal for Pretty Polly heroine Chinese White

CASTLEMARTIN Stud in County Kildare has welcomed a foal who has already passed the post first in a Group 1 race.

Its Cape Cross colt out of Chinese White born on March 25 was being caried by the dam when she won the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh last year.

Chinese White won seven races in total for trainer Dermot Weld and owner Lady O'Reilly of Castlemartin Stud, also including the Group 2 Blandford Stakes.

She is a daughter of Dalakhani and Blandford Stakes winner Chiang Mai, a Sadler's Wells half-sister to Rafha, winner of the Prix de Diane and dam of Invincible Spirit.

Chinese White visits Dubawi at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket this year.

Chiang Mai produced a brother to Chinese White on March 25 and returned to Dalakhani again last month.

Another of Lady O'Reilly's star mares, Tattersalls Gold Cup heroine Rebelline, produced a bay filly by Invincible Spirit on April 21. She also visits Dubawi this year.

Rebelline's previous foals include Tattersalls Gold Cup runner-up Recharge.
