Champion Dabirsim to stand in Germany

DABIRSIM, the joint-champion two-year-old of Europe in 2011, will begin his stallion career at Gestüt Karlshof in Germany next year.

A deal brokered by Holger Faust's HFTB Racing Agency will see the son of Hat Trick stand alongside former champion German sire Samum at the stud, located near Frankfurt.

Dabirsim was bought for €30,000 as a yearling at Arqana by German owner Simon Springer, whose silks he carried to five wins from five starts at two, including the Prix Morny and Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere.

At three last year the Christophe Ferland-trained colt was beaten just a short head in the Prix de Fontainebleau and was sixth, beaten just half a length, as the hot favourite in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains.

Dabirsim hails from the first crop of Hat Trick, a Kentucky-based son of Sunday Silence. His dam, Rumored, is by Royal Academy and out of Oaks d'Italia heroine Bright Generation.

In a statement Gestüt Karlshof said: "The stud is proud and thrilled to be able to stand an international champion like Dabirsim.

"We thank Mr Springer and his team for their confidence."

A stud fee will be announced in the coming weeks.
