Winner number 14 for first-season sire Haafhd

SHADWELL stallion Haafhd squeezed in one more individual two-year-old winner from his first crop today, on the eve of the official thoroughbred racehorse birthday.

Cut And Thrust provided the eleventh hour victory in division one of the 7f nursery at Lingfield. The second foal of the Listed-placed Green Desert mare Ego, he was purchased by Rathmore Stud for 45,000gns as a foal at Tattersalls and resold to Blandford Bloodstock at the St. Leger yearling sale at Doncaster for 85,000gns.

The Bloomsbury Stud-bred gelding, now trained by Michael Jarvis for owner Alan Spence, was visiting the winner's enclosure for the first time in six starts.

Haafhd is by two-year-old champion Alhaarth out of Irish 1,000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes heroine Al Bahathri. His 14 two-year-old winners this year include Royal Lodge Stakes fifth Almiqdaad and multiple winners Calahonda and Crystal Moments.
