FFOS LAS has abandoned Saturday's card with the course still frozen on the morning of racing, while plans to stage the fixture on Sunday have failed.
An inspection had been scheduled for 9am, but clerk of the course Tim Long called the meeting off at 7.45am with temperatures not forecast to rise sufficiently coupled with a fierce wind chill.
Speaking on Channel 4's Morning Line, Long said: "We're incredibly disappointed, the entire track was covered but it was Thursday night that did for us with a -6C.
"We were -1C last night, and 0C now but it is only going to rise a degree or two and with the wind chill it is not going to be enough to get the frost out."
There had been the possibility of the meeting being staged on Sunday, but Long later confirmed that would not happen.
He said: "We regrouped after the abandonment and made a number of calls last night to test the waters.
"Logistically we can't get the meeting on. There is a Welsh rugby international on Sunday which has been a factor and we can't get enough people at short notice to staff the course safely."
Long added that investigations will take place as to whether the card, featuring the William Hill Welsh Champion Hurdle could be rearranged, with the course next due to race on Sunday, February 19.
