Lookin At Lucky confirmed for Australia

DUAL US champion Lookin At Lucky will shuttle to Australia this year, Coolmore have confirmed.

The five-time Grade 1 winner is currently standing his first season for $35,000 at Coolmore's Kentucky arm, Ashford Stud, where the dams of Smarty Jones and Point Given are among his first book.

Equally effective on dirt and synthetic, $475,000 breeze-up purchase Lookin At Lucky was a triple Grade 1 winner as a two-year-old for Bob Baffert, landing the Norfolk Stakes, Del Mar Futurity and Hollywood Futurity to earn champion juvenile honours.

The son of Smart Strike returned at three to win the Preakness Stakes and Haskell Invitational. He was recently crowned the champion US three-year-old of 2010, thus becoming the first colt in 31 years to receive an Eclipse Award at two and three.

Coolmore's Tom Magnier said: "Lookin At Lucky is an outstanding young stallion prospect. His form, at both two and three, marks him down as not only the best horse of his generation in the United States but one of the best seen in a long time andit is a well illustrated fact that the best racehorses make the best sires."

Lookin At Lucky will be the first son of US champion sire Smart Strike to stand in Australia.
