Rip Van Winkle: best son of champion sire Galileo on Racing Post Ratings

Group 1 producers in foal to Rip Van Winkle

RIP VAN WINKLE, the best son of European champion sire Galileo by Racing Post Ratings, has had his first mares scanned in foal.

The five-year-old retiredto Coolmore Stud in County Tipperary this year after a career which saw him win the Sussex Stakes, the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes and the Juddmonte International Stakes.


Among those scanned in foal are Group 3 Doncaster Cupwinner Alleluia, the dam of Group 1 Prix Royal-Oak heroine Allegretto; Monevassia, a sister to Kingmambo out of Miesque who has already produced Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac winner Rumplestiltskin; and Lune Rouge, the winning dam of Group 1 Prix Saint-Alary heroine Ask For The Moon.

Also in foal to Rip Van Winkle are Group-race scorers Danehill Music, State Crystal and Steel Princess.

Rip Van Winkle's fee at Coolmore this year is €20,000.
