Pivotal son Poet scores second Group 3 win

POET landed the totesport.com Rose of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock on Saturday, giving the Clive Cox-trained son of Pivotal a second Group 3 win.

Bred by Meon Valley Stud, Poet was sold for 250,000gns at Book 1 of Tattersalls October sale, and was initially trained by Aidan O'Brien and raced in the colours of Derrick Smith.

Poeat's dam, the Shirley Heights mare Hyabella, was also bred at Meon Stud and won twice at Listed-level over a mile including the Ben Marshall Stakes at Newmarket. She is out of a half-sister to Colorspin, dam of Opera House, Kayf Tara and Group 1-winning filly Zee Zee Top.
