The David Evans-trained filly was the National Stud resident's third runner, following Queen Of The Hop, who was second on her Wolverhampton debut and on her next run at Folkestone, the race in which his other runner, First Rebellion, was fourth.

Cockney Fire is the fifth foal of the Lahib mare Camp Fire, who produced the winners Night Robe and Kumbeshwar, a dual 7f winner at two and second in both the Grade 1 juvenile hurdle at Aintree and the Fred Winter Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

By Breeders' Cup Mile hero Val Royal, Cockney Rebel is out of the Known Fact mare Factice, a 5f winner at two, and is a half-brother to five winners. His grand-dam, Wacky Princess, was a stakes-winning daughter of Miswaki who also produced Play Waki For Me, a Grade 3 runner-up at two.

Breeders sent Cockney Rebel 66 mares in his first season, 50 in his second and 31 in his third.

Cockney Rebel stands at the National Stud in Newmarket at a fee of £4,500.
