Clowance's half-sister makes impressive debut

Club Tahiti, a Hernando half-sister to this year's Oaks fourth Clowance, won the 6 ½ f maiden that opened Thursday's card at Newbury in impressive style.

Both Clowance and Club Tahiti were bred by their current owner Barry Hurley, and are trained by Roger Charlton.

Their dam, Freni, is a daughter of Sternkönig bred in Germany by Gestüt Hof Heidendom who was bought by John Haydon for 38,000gns at the Tattersalls Decemebr Mares' Sale in 2004.

Club Tahiti earned quotes of 33/1 to go three places better than her sister in next year's Oaks.
