Half Ours off the mark with first winner

LOUISIANA-BASED Half Ours has become the latest American freshman sire to get off the mark with a first winner.

His daughter Zingwella won a 2½f race at Gulfstream Park by one and a quarter lengths on her debut.

Zingwella, the third winner out of the Mister Jolie mare Ms Well, is trained by Wesley Ward for Ice Wine Stable.

Half Ours, a son of Unbridled's Song and the Storm Cat mare Zing, won the Grade 2 Richter Scale Breeders' Cup Spint Championship over 7f at Gulfstream Parkat four.

He retired to stud at Taylor Made Farm in Kentucky but moved to Clear Creak Stud in Louisiana in 2010, where he stands this year at a fee of $4,500.
