Shamardal filly for star Italian mare Claba

WATTLEFIELD Stud in Norfolk has welcomed the latest foal produced by brilliant Italian broodmare Claba Di San Jore.

The 13-year-old daughter of Barathea has produced six winners from six runners including two scorers in the Italian Derby, Awelmarduk and Crackerjack King, Gran Premio di Milano hero Jakkalberry and Listed winner Kidnapping.

Her newborn foal, who arrived on Monday, isa chestnut filly by Shamardal and thus a sister to Crackerjack King.

Claba Di San Jore's roll call of stakes-winners could improve again this year as Freezy, her three-year-old daughter by Dalakhani, was an impressive winner last year and will be targeted at the Italian Oaks.

Claba Di San Jore, owned by Razza del Velino, will visit Dubawi this year.
