Stimulation picks up
first Group race

THE opener on the Champions Day card at Newmarket, the 7f Group 2 Challenge Stakes, was won by first-time Group race winner Stimulation.  He is a son of the Australian-bred second-season sire Choisir.

The Hughie Morrison-trained colt finished third last time out in the Topkapi Trophy, a Turkish Group 2 held as part of the country's international race day, winning the equivalent of £60,300, more than the total prize-money that was up for grabs in the Challenge Stakes.  

Stimulation is a half-brother to the three-time winner Desert Cristal, and out of the Thatching mare Damiana. She is a sister to French Listed winner and US Grade 2 placed Dirca.

Stimulation was bought by Amanda Skiffington at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in 2006 for  92,000gns.Choisir stood for 12,500 euros in 2008.
