Bride and Orientalist are latest Bonus beneficiaries

CHILD Bride became the 16th Racing Post Yearling Bonus winner when denying Belle Royale to takethe 5f maiden on her debut at Yarmouth on Tuesday.

The daughter of Invincible Spirit, who is jointly owned by her breeders, Mr and Mrs Chris Wright, and trainer Paul Cole, is the sixth winner from as many foals out of Cultured Pearl.

The daughter of Lammtarra is one of only three foals out of Wright's brilliant filly Culture Vulture, whom Cole trained to win three Group 1 races including the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches.

Child Bride was bought back by Wright's Stratford Place Stud for just 5,000gns in Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Sale last year.

Orientalist brought up the 17th yearling bonus payout when finishing fast to land the spoils in the 5f at Nottingham on Tuesday evening.

From the third crop of 2,000 Guineas winner Haafhd, Orientalist was sold by Whitsbury Manor Stud at Book 2 of the Tattersalls October yearling sale, and bought by his trainer Eve Johnson Houghton for 14,000gns.

Eden Racing, whose colours were also carried by Tout Seul, who won the Dewhurst for Eve Johnson Houghton's father Fulke, are the lucky recipients of the £10,000 windfall.
