Cheveley Park to host TBA awards gathering

THE Thoroughbred Breeders' Association's annual awards dinner will be held at the Cheveley Park Stud in Newmarket following a successful switch  last year, when the event was moved from London and staged at Juddmonte.

Held on Monday June 27 , it will allow TBA members and guests the chance to see leading sire Pivotal, who achieved his 19th individual Group 1 winner last week when Immortal Verse won the Coronation Stakes, as well as other Cheveley stallions Dutch Art, Kyllachy, Medicean and Virtual.

The TBA's AGM will take place the morning after the awards dinner, which is sponsored by Cheveley Park. Held at Tattersalls and starting at 9.45am, it will include the  the latest analysis of the thoroughbred population by Weatherbys' head of the General Stud Book, Paul Greeves.

A seminar  entitled ‘From Foal to Finish - Nutrition and Veterinary' will  starts at 10.45 a.m and will focus on practical stud management, aimed at helping breeders to
enhance the potential of their young stock.

The seminar, which is sponsored by Saracen Horse Feeds, features presentations from nutrition and veterinary experts, including Dr Joe Pagan of Kentucky Equine Research and
Professor Jacquie Matthews of the Moredun Research Institute, whowill report on TBA/Levy Board funded research.
