Cherry Collect sold to Northern Farm in Japan

CHERRY COLLECT, runner-up to Sortilege in Sunday's Group 1 Premio Lydia Tesio in Rome, has been sold to join the broodmare band at Katsumi Yoshida's Northern Farm in Japan.

The three-year-old daughter of Oratorio scored an Italian Classic double this year by winning the Group 3 Premio Regina Elena (1,000 Guineas) and Group 2 Oaks d'Italia for trainer Stefano Botti and owner Scuderia Effevi.

A €65,000 buy from the SGA yearling sale, Cherry Collect is out of the Listed-winning Hernando mare Holy Moon from the family of Oaks d'Italia winner Bright Generation.

Cherry Collect will now head to France for quarantine before travelling to Japan.

She is another recent high-profile broodmare acquisition for Northern Farm after Jim Bolger's triple Group 1 winner Lush Lashes.
