Chauncey Morris named CEO of Aushorse

Chauncey Morris, who has been at the forefront of Keeneland's efforts to grow Thoroughbred ownership, has accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer for Thoroughbred Breeders of Australia and its sister organization, Aushorse.

Vice President of sales at Keeneland, Walt Robertson said: "Even before I joined Keeneland's team, I admired and respected the work Chauncey was doing."

"Working alongside him for the past year, my admiration has only grown. We appreciate the outstanding work he has done on behalf of Keeneland and the industry and wish him the best as he begins his new position. The TBA is fortunate to add him to its team."

Morris began working with Keeneland in 2002 on behalf of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association/ Kentucky Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders, Incorporation in order to assist with developing the company. He officially joined Keeneland's roster in 2006 and has been praised for his efforts to increase Thoroughbred ownership. His major achievements have been expanding Keeneland into nearly all of America's 50 states, 48 countries and six continents.

"I have been honoured to work day-to-day with the best sales team in the world," Morris said. "My family and I have cherished our time here."

Morris will leave his post at Keeneland in mid-November.

"Chauncey has laid a great foundation for us and we remain fully committed to continuing this important initiative," said Director of Sales Geoffrey Russell. "He will be missed, but we wish him nothing but the best."
