New stakes winner
for Observatory

OBSERVATORY'S good year continued in fine style on Wednesday afternoon at Saint-Cloud when Juddmonte homebred Chasing Stars took the Listed Prix Isola Bella.

Out of the unraced Nureyev mare Post Modern, the three-year-old filly is the latest classy runner to hail from the line of Modena.

Modena produced ten winners from 13 foals during her illustrious breeding career including two at Group 1 level in the Eclipse Stakes winner Elmaamul and Oaks winner Reams Of Verse, dam of this season's Listed winner Many Volumes.

Five other foals out of Modena went on to gain stakes success including the Listed winners High Walden, Modesta and Novellara.

Post Modern, who was sold last year for 46,000gns to Hugo Merry, hassome way to go if she is to match her dam's achievements. However, she is starting making a name for herself; Chasing Stars is her second stakes performer from four foals of racing age following the Chester Vase third Risk Taker (Rainbow Quest).

Post Modern has a two-year-old named Modern Quest by Rainbow Quest, a yearling colt by Beat Hollow and a colt foal by Librettist.
