Prix de Royaumont winner for Rail Link

THE first crop of Arc hero Rail Link received another boost on Sunday when Sediciosa was an easy winner of the Group 3 Prix de Royaumont at Chantilly.

In the process, the filly, who was unsold for €25,000 at the 2010 Arqana August Sale, became the second first-crop Pattern winner by her sire following last season's Italian Group 3 scorer Bugie d'Amore. She is one of 12 winners sired in Europe by Rail Link so far this year. Others include Wild Wolf, who fell a neck short of providing his sire with a Classic winner in last month's Derby Italiano.

Rail Link stands at Banstead Manor Stud for £6,000.

Bred in Ireland by Pontchartrain Stud, Sediciosa is the best of four winners from as many runners out of her dual-winning dam. She is out of a half-sister to Japanese champion Neo Universe and a descendant of Boulevard, the ancestress of Street Cry and Shamardal.
