One Cool Cat gelding impressive on debut

CATSKILL MOUNTAIN, a two-year-old gelding by first-season sire One Cool Cat, made an impressive debut on Friday when successful in the 6f maiden at Newmarket.

A rare runner for the Coolmore partnership of John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith in training with Peter Chapple-Hyam, Catskill Mountain made a significant profit forhis vendor when sold to John O'Byrne at the 2007 Doncaster St. Leger Sale for 90,000gns. At the Goffs November Foal sale the year before, he cost Rathmore Stud just €47,000.

He is the first foal of his dam, the twice-placed Peintre Celebre mare Catch The Moon, a daughter of the Grade 3-placed mare Sensitivity.

He is also the 16th individual winner for his sire.
