Cork: maiden hurdle won by Chris relation

THE Mouse Morris-trained corkracecourse.ie maiden hurdle on Thursday was won by Baily Green, who shares his sire, King's Theatre, with Arkle winner Captain Chris and also descends from the same damline.

Baily Green was bought by Aidan Murphy for €22,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale. His dam, Dream On Boys by Anshan, pulled up in her only point-to-point but is out of a half-sister to Function Dream. Trained by John Walsh in Ireland, Function Dream showed a fair level of ability winning five times over fences.

But for Mary Reveley she improved to win theCastleford Chase and Victor Chandler Chase, both Grade 2 handicaps, before a level-weights win in the Game Spirit Chase at Newbury.

Captain Chris is Function Dream's second foal and first to have raced. His sister, Dream Function, hasplaced three of four starts for trainer Philip Hobbs.
