Midnight Lute does it again for Real Quiet

BACK-TO-BACK Breeders' Cup Sprint winner Midnight Lute continues to be a headline act for sire Real Quiet who stands at Penn Ridge Farms in Pennsylvania.

The sire has produced just five graded stakes winners through his stud career and as a result, despite Midnight Lute's achievement in 2007, he has only eight foals on the ground this year.

Midnight Lute's dam Candytuft did not run but her half-sister Kafiyah by Shadeed was a runner-up in the Listed Rose Bowl Stakes as a two-year-old.

Candytuft's yearling by Maria's Mon made $900,000 at Keeneland this summer. In comparsion, Midnight Lute fetched just $70,000 when bought by Caldera Racing at Keenelandin 2004.
