Canadian champion Milwaukee retired

CANADIAN champion Milwaukee Appeal has been purchased by Gary and Mary West from C. E. C. Farms in a private transaction, according to the West's representative Ben Glass. The six-year-old mare daughter of Milwaukee Brew has been retired and sent to Dell Ridge Farm in Kentucky to start life as a broodmare.

C. E. C. Farms homebred Milwaukee Appeal was voted Canada's champion three-year-old filly of 2009 following successes in the Woodbine Oaks and Star Shoot Stakes. She was also placed in the Queen's Plate Stakes, Canada's most prestigious race for three-year-olds, and the Prince of Wales Stakes.

She was last seen finishing third in the Trillium Stakes at Woodbine on June 25. In all, Milwaukee Appeal has won or placed in 18 of 25 starts and is the earner of nearly $1.2 million in prize-money.
