Campanologist to stand at Gestut Fahrhof

CAMPANOLOGIST, a four-time Group 1 winner for Godolphin, will stand his first season in 2013 at Gestut Fahrhof in Germany. The seven-year-old was retired from racing earlier this year.

Campanologist was initially trained by Mark Johnston, for whom he won two races at two. Switched to Godolphin, the son of Kingmambo developed into a formidable globe-trotter, racking up victories in four Group 1 races on the continent including last season's Gran Premio Jockey Club Italiano. He was also successful in the 2008 King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot.

He retires as the winner of 11 races from 36 starts.

"For several years we have been looking for a young stallion that complements our roster," said Dr Andreas Jacobs of Gestut Fahrhof. "And in Group 1 winner Campanologist, we think we have found the perfect candidate. "

Campanologist hails from one of the most successful stallion families in the stud book as the son of a Sadler's Wells half-sister to top sires Singspiel and Rahy. In addition, his granddam, Canadian champion Glorious Song, is a sister to Grade 1-producing sires Devil's Bag and Saint Ballado.

His fee for 2013 will be announced at a later date.
