Fantastic fourth RP Trophy hero for Montjeu

CAMELOT became the fourth winner of the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy for brilliant Coolmore sire Montjeu at Doncaster on Saturday.

With a smooth two-and-a-quarter-length defeat of Zip Top (Smart Strike), the Aidan O'Brien-trained colt emulated his paternal half-brothers Motivator, Authorized and St Nicholas Abbey.

Motivator and Authorized both followed up in the following year's Derby, while St Nicholas Abbey won the Coronation Cup this year at four after racing only once at three.

Camelot is Montjeu's eighth individual Group 1 winner of 2011 - Classic winners Jukebox Jury, Masked Marvel and Pour Moi have been the stars of the vintage season - and he caps a particularly productive spell for the stallion.

In October so far, Montjeu has provided winners of the Rockfel Stakes (Wading), Cesarewitch (Never Can Tell) and British Champions Long Distance Cup (Fame And Glory), as well as getting two new Grade 1 winning filles at Woodbine last Sunday courtesy of Miss Kellerand Sarah Lynx, and getting a first Group 1 winner as damsire with Parish Hall in the Dewhurst.

Camelot, a 525,000gns Tattersalls October Book 1 yearling buy, was bred by Sheikh Abdulla Bin Isa Al-Khalifa and  is the second foal out of Dahlia Stakes winner Tarfah (Kingmambo).

Tarfah is out of Listed winner Fickle, a granddaughter of Cheshire and Lancashire Oaks winner One Over Parr.

One Over Parr was a sister to 1974 Oaks heroine Polygamy.
