Burke wins Newsells Park Stud's prize-draw

GERRY BURKE of Glidawn Stud, Ireland, has won the Newsells Park Stud prize-draw and gets a free holiday for two to South Africa.

A delighted Burke said: "I'm really looking forward to the trip but still rather shocked. I only got the chance to see Mount Nelson on Thursday at Tattersalls. I heard he was a good-looking horse, but I hadn't expected him to be such an impressive individual. He has great presence and an unbelievable walk. I left the sale, trying to find a nice mare for him.  I expect I'll have to try even harder now!"

Julian Dollar, general manager, said: "We received positive feedback on Mount Nelson at the parades and he now has nearly 90 mares in his first book, many of whom have won Group races and or produced Group winners."

Breeders who completed a nomination form to Mount Nelson on the Newsells Park Stud website before February 4 were entered into the draw.
