Bumper F-T Winter catalogue released
FASIG-Tipton has cataloged 425 lots for its first sale of the season, the Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale on February 6 in Lexington. The figure is nearly a third greater than the catalogue compiled for 2011.
Last year's renewal saw 183 of 237 horses offered (77 per cent) sell for a total of $2,821,500 and average of $15,418, which represented a drop of three per cent. Hatta Diamond, a Street Cry mare in foal to Bernardini, topped the sale when selling to Paul Pompa for $170,000.
Mares in foal to sires such as Congrats, Curlin, Giant's Causeway, Indian Charlie, Scat Daddy, Tapit and War Front are catalogued as well as approximately 90 yearlings and a lifetime breeding right to Congrats.
"We are extremely pleased with the size and quality of this year's catalogue," said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. "There are several attractive racing and broodmare prospects and a number of mares in foal to prominent stallions. The short yearlings should prove very popular. Additionally, the sale's placement on the calendar works very well forthose looking to buy a mare prior to breeding season."
Print catalogues will be available by January 20 while the catalogue will also be available via the Equineline sales catalogue app.
