Sholokhov: Gestut Etzean will offer a brother to the stallion's Group 1 winner, Night Magic, in the BBAG September Yearling Sale

Brother to Night Magic heads BBAG catalogue

A TOTAL of 260 yearlings have been catalogued to the BBAG September Sale, which has been reduced this year to a single session on September 2.

BBAG graduates have enjoyed a good year on the track this season with Danedream winning the Oaks d'Italia and bargain €2,400 BBAG October purchase Lips Poison taking the German 1,000 Guineas.

This year's catalogue includes offerings from many of Germany's leading breeders including Gestut Etzean, who will send through a Sholokhov brother to  Group I winner Night Magic.

Gestut Wittekindshofconsigns an Oratorio half-brother to German Oaks heroine Rosenreihe while Gestut Ebbesloh will offer a Montjeu filly out of Group 2 winner Avanti Polonia.

Last year's sale held steady with the 2009 renewal. A total of 155 yearlings sold for an aggregate of €4,285,500 while the average fell by just three per cent to €26,748. However, the clearance rate was just 56 per cent.
